A New Chapter....Memories being Made

As I drive into Dahlonega, the flags are waving reminding us of the sacrifices many have made for our protection and freedoms as we get ready to kick off the summer with Memorial Day...the official start to summer and for many the end of a chapter of their lives with graduation and new beginnings.

I spent the greater part of the morning at my Mom’s looking thru old pictures reminiscent over past memories and looking forward to new.  Like you, my family has experienced many different chapters in our lives with graduations, marriage, births of GRANDchildren and deaths.  It is a reminder that life is short  and we need to slow down and enjoy each other a bit  more. Perhaps we need to  spend less time proving our opinions are right and less time of getting ahead to spending time with  family and friends making lifelong memories.   This past week has been a blast for me thinking about my past and where I have been and dreaming about where I am going.

So today, I take a break from being the wedding planner and event facility owner and take some time for me to share with my beautiful daughter the great outdoors and continue the tradition of my Mom’s family of trout fishing.  My Mom comes from a large family and my Aunts are strong, beautiful and independent women that have never been afraid of what lies ahead and learn from the past.

As we prepare for the graduations and try to hold on to our babies, take some time to etch the past into your memory so that you can pull those precious moments back into your mind when you need a little comfort and little joy.  Congratulations to new beginnings and embrace the past.  Today, my little one will make her own memory of fishing with her grandmother while I etch the memory.
