17 minutes!!!!

I must say I'm a little tired tonight as I reflect over the weekend.   I'm thinking about building an ark with all the rain we have had in the North GA  Mountains this week.  The weather channel says we have a low pressure but I say this storm deserves a name.  The last time I experienced this much rain I was riding out a Hurricane named Erin in the Gulf Coast with about 20 teenages.

I am a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to our weddings but that's only because at Waters Mill we strive for our events to be perfect.  This week was a bit of a challenge.  The rain started early Tuesday morning and it is Sunday night and still going strong.  The week was full of challenges and obstacles but with perservance we kept focus and chipping away at our mountains that laid before us.  By Thursday, I knew we would be forced to move the wedding inside Waters Mill for our contingency plan.  Like a coach writing a play book for the Superbowl, I began mapping our plan for the team.  We had a plan and a good one at that. Each player was given a playbook with instructions.

Game Day...sky is drizzling rain, clouds heavy, humidity high, ground soft.  Even if by the Grace of God the sky had turned from Grey to Blue, having the wedding inside was still a good decision.  The team huddled as we went on the offense against  our opponent-Mother Nature.  Our floral designer transformed the reception hall with gorgeous floral designs, swags, urns, twigs, mantle pieces, centerpieces....it was magazine beautiful.  The guest were escorted to their seats and grateful to be safe in the arms of Waters Mill dry.  The chairs were beautifully draped with satin chair covers that looked like a wedding gown draped elegantly for her guests.  Ceremony was sweet, personal and remindful remembering that the wedding day is all about the love the couple has for each other.  After the kiss, the bridal party secretly knew what their role was in the success of Waters Mill contingency plan.  As orchestrated and rehearsed, the bridal party moved into the bridal suite, the guests were escorted to the front porch graciously for appetizers and a cold beverage and Waters Mill team has the ball.

Tables & chairs were placed.   Centerpieces moved to tables, tables set for dinner service....reception hall completely "flipped" as we call it in the business in an hour you say....NO....Waters Mill team pulled off setting up the entire reception hall beautifully, magazine quality in 17 minutes!!!!!!   Guests couldn't help to be amazed at the quickness of our execution.  Touchdown.  The room was completely set before guests even placed an order for an adult beverage.  You Rock Waters Mill staff and I couldn't be more proud of you.  Thank you for not dumping a 50 gallon tub on gatorade on my back but mother nature did that for you with all the rain.  Yes, it was wet but that didn't stop our bride from having a beautifully and highly successful  wedding. Bride Happy, Guests Happy, Waters Mill happy.   Great job!  Waters Mill team wins.
