This past Thanksgiving my family and I celebrated Anna Grace’s birthday Princess style at Walt Disney.  It was a celebration of much anticipation and ado.  Months of planning took place, budgeting, menu selections and the invitation to the special guests which of course must include the Princesses at  the Royal Banquet Hall, Akershus.

Upon our arrival, Walt Disney Resort was ready for us. Our room was ready early, we checked in our room and hit the park and hit it hard.  The weather was not as cooperative but it didn’t matter because the stars that danced in Anna Grace’s eyes were well worth every chilly drop of rain that fell on my head.

We had an awesome time at Disney but I will never forget how Anna Grace turned into “Princess Mode” as she dressed for her big affair to celebrate her birthday with the Princesses.  She walked a little taller, she used perfect manners and soaked up every moment as she anticipated dinner at the Castle.  In Disney words, It was a “magical moment”.  And being that I am in the special events business, I couldn’t help but think about the many fairytale weddings we have created for our clients.  Many hours go into planning a wedding.   As a bridal consultant, I listen to my Brides and pour over magazines, books, websites as we design the dream wedding together.  And like Anna Grace with dancing eyes at the Castle, it is magical to watch our Brides eyes fill with tears and the gasp of satisfaction when she sees the creation our team has worked so diligently to make sure every detail is according to plan.  For a moment, our Bride could easily become one of Disney’s Princess as she is  adorned in her wedding attire.  It is truly magical and I love that moment when magic is in the air.

Thank you Disney for making my daughter’s birthday one she will never forget and thank you for teaching me the art of making dreams come true.  May we always remember the magic!
